IAA Hawks, you are truly champions! Congratulations to the U18 Boys" and Girls" IAA Football Teams, who brought home the first place trophy at the AAC tournament over the weekend. A heartfelt "thank you" goes out to all the players, teachers and parents who supported IAA during the games. We are so proud of our Hawks!
IAA's Mohamad Salameh (G12), Alisar Quneibi (G11) and Lina Al Taweel (G11) attended Sunday's award ceremony for the Arab Council for the Gifted and Talented. There were 47 science submissions from 30 schools based in Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. IAA would like to congratulate Alisar and Lina for being selected (by a panel of mostly university professors) amongst the top 5 science projects in the region and first in Jordan. Their project was truly creative and one of a kind - extracting cellulose acetate from used cigarettes, which they then used to enhance the properties of other common plastics. Who knew cigarette butts could be recycled? Well done, to our IAA scientists!
The International Baccalaureate has created a dedicated new web page for parents of MYP and IB students!
This page exists to help parents understand, and make the most of, the programmes the IB offers in partnership with IB World Schools - this is part of a shared commitment to the success of your children. You will find information and FAQs about the Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme, plus recommended resources, research, advice on how to get transcripts, how to help students prepare for the move to higher education, and much more.
